100 years Bauhaus Dessau

texlock has been making the bicycle lock world more colourful for 10 years. At the same time, Bauhaus Dessau will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026.

What connects the two is more than just an anniversary: it is a shared understanding of design.

The Bauhaus never saw design as an end in itself. Architecture, objects and products should improve everyday life and enable mobility.

Textile locks from texlock are the result of precisely this requirement - to combine security, functionality and design in equal measure.

The Bauhaus anniversary edition shows how strong this attitude still is today - and how it can be translated into contemporary mobility.

Form follows function
- Movement shapes design

The Bauhaus anniversary edition is the result of an extraordinary brand collaboration and transfers the Bauhaus design principles to the world of mobility.

It picks up on the iconic colours blue, red and yellow in a geometric braided structure. The dominant black base colour gives the lock the typical texlock premium character and powerfully frames the coloured accents.

A specially developed black label at the end of the rope marks both anniversaries:
10 years of texlock and 100 years of Bauhaus Dessau.

The clear geometric organisation refers to the visual language of the Bauhauses - at the same time, the product remains flexible, light and functional for everyday use.

Commitment to a regional education project

All texlock Special Editions are based on the idea of donating part of the proceeds to social projects.

In 2026, texlock is supporting an educational project in Leipzig. In a Leipzig daycare centre, a trained carpenter commissioned by texlock designs toys or furniture together with children - inspired by the shapes and colours of Bauhaus.

By purchasing the anniversary edition, customers are supporting the promotion of manual skills in childhood.
