Texlock began with a simple but radical question. Why do secure bike locks have to be heavy, rigid and unwieldy?
Alexandra Baum, a product designer specialising in technical textiles and a passionate cyclist herself, asked herself this question.
What began as an idea in 2014 became a reality in 2016. A bike lock that set new standards in material selection, comfort and design, based on a patented hybrid composite of textile and steel. A real innovation.
Our patented HybridSecure™ technology, developed over many years, is at the heart of every texlock. A hardened steel core is firmly embedded in a unique weave of multi-layered high-tech fibres.
Several layers fulfil specific functions against sawing, cutting, fire, paint scratches and weathering. The result is a flexible, durable and pleasantly soft rope that combines safety, comfort and design.
